Discover the story of an organisation that has evolved along with the nation

A fully-illustrated biography of a great British institution

At a time when The Royal Mint is firmly in the spotlight - celebrating 200 years of its flagship coin and preparing to introduce the nation´s new twelve-sided L1 coin - a new book from Dr Kevin Clancy tells the story of this evolving organisation.

For more than 1,000 years The Royal Mint has been in the business of making money, but its story is wider. It produces coinage for countries around the world and strikes the medals that honour those who have fought and served their country. Changing locations have provided the setting, and advancing technology has defined the processes; but it is the people who have worked for this institution that have driven its innovative culture.

Dr Kevin Clancy, Director of The Royal Mint Museum and Secretary to The Royal Mint Advisory Committee, has published and lectured on the history of The Royal Mint for over 20 years. In this new book, he has brought the story of The Royal Mint up-to-date, capturing the excitement of what lies ahead in the future of the organisation.
